Get your skates on ! The ice rink will stay for longer

Once more this year, the ice rink and its village will be open for everyone to enjoy until Sunday 7 January, the last day of the school holidays, a week after Winter Wonders closes on 31 December.

Skaters will be supervised by expert staff there to help the public on the ice.

The very young will be able to try out skating safely in a specific 645-sq. ft. area. If they need help, their parents or guardians will be able to access that area without ice skates. Straps that can be placed over the shoes of very young kids will also be available.

The cost of hiring ice skates is included in the price.

Bookings aren’t necessary except for schools from 18 to 23 December, mornings only.

The ice rink is also accessible to wheelchair users who are accompanied on and off the ice.

Place de la Monnaie back bigger and better

For the fourth year, Place de la Monnaie will be the place to enjoy ice skating and fine food.

But this year it’s having a makeover!

Given the square’s structure, a raised platform will be put in place to create a real Christmas village with a unique atmosphere! The new configuration will offer better views over the ice rink. After shopping in nearby businesses, visitors will be able to enjoy drinks or delicious food comfortably seated on the additional benches under covered terraces.

For six weeks, Place de la Monnaie will stop being a hectic walkthrough and be transformed into a magical Christmas village with multiple attractions that you can enjoy strolling around
