The AIDS Prevention platform and its partners will again be campaigning on World AIDS Day.
Red ribbons and condoms will be handed out at Winter Wonders from 2 pm on Friday 1 December. It’s important to reiterate that the fight against HIV/AIDS remains ongoing: every day in Belgium, nearly three people are diagnosed HIV positive.
Later that day, the association will also host a festive event on Boulevard Anspach from 2 pm to 8.30 pm: Brazilian percussions, juggling, bowling against STIs in a giant condom, photo booths, HIV screening… and an incredible DJ set by Alex Germys at 6.30 pm!
A challenge is also being launched: #16,000 Hands Up. The aim is to post 16,000 photos of raised hands as a sign of solidarity with the 16,000 people being treated for HIV in Belgium. From 7 November, everyone is invited to put their hand up! A few clicks are all it takes to join in the challenge via the AIDS Prevention platform FB page or the website www.preventionsida.org.
