Venue: Agora de la Bourse, access via Rue de la Bourse, 1000 Brussels.
Dates: 28.11.25 – 29.12.25
Times: open to the public from Thursday to Monday, 12 pm to 7 pm
A welcoming space open to all
This space is programmed by the non-profit association Waka Up in the frame of its Tisse-Reines project.
The Knitting Bar is an intergenerational and creative meeting place that fosters social connection, solidarity, and creativity in the city centre. It offers the perfect opportunity to learn or practice knitting/crochet, and to contribute to creating solidarity scarves for Tisse-Reines. Welcome!
You can also participate in cultural activities and board games, or take part in creative and artistic workshops.
A solidarity café
Drop in for a coffee or tea at a democratic price, with all proceeds going to the Waka-Up social project.
Pay-what-you-want over €20, for the covers knitted or crocheted during the Tisse-Reines workshops. The “suspended cover” is a symbolic initiative. Your purchase will offer this cover to a woman leaving a shelter and moving into a new home.
Come and donate your wool, hooks, and needles. All donations will be redistributed during the Tisse-Reines workshops, in a spirit of circular economy and reuse.
Tisse-Reines Exhibition
Discover the “Tisse-Reines” exhibition, which retraces the different stages of the project: portraits of the participants, moments from collective workshops, textile installations, created works, quotes and excerpts of testimonials.
Sports sessions with WAKA-UP in the mornings
WAKA-UP organises year-round sporting, cultural, educational, recreational, and artistic activities for women. In addition to the Knitting Bar, some of their activities (boxing, muscle strengthening) are held at the Agora de la Bourse (access via Rue de la Bourse) in the mornings.
Learn about the sessions and sign up on the Waka-Up website.
