Winter Vox is back every weekend with six professional or amateur ensembles performing recitals — three on Saturdays and three on Sundays — with the focus on Christmas carols, gospel, hymns as well as the latest pop hits.
The Ma’Chaka Gospel Singers choir contributes to the mission of the non-profit organization Solidarité Bénin: development cooperation and the fight against poverty in Africa, as well as the promotion of culture and music.
They sing classic Gospel songs, new Gospel tunes, as well as authentic African regional songs. These are rhythmic and melodic songs, with audience interaction and participation.
Las Niñas de Los Martes has a varied repertoire derived from diverse cultural traditions. They transform songs to give them a special touch.
Their aims are as follows: using music as an instrument for integration and multiculturalism with no barriers, especially age. Many members are 1960s Spanish emigrants and most, but not all, are women.
Their work is driven by personal improvement, gaining self-confidence, greater understanding of the environment, interrelationships for living life with less loneliness and isolation, being active, surrounding ourselves with the beauty of musical traditions, and encouraging others to memorize those traditions with coordination and sensitivity.
Alameezo is a small a cappella choir for mixed voices.
We’re most inspired by French and Dutch chanson. Sung poetry also has its place in our songbook. Alameezo has an original repertoire. Most of the choral arrangements are written by our choir leader Luc Wynants.
