Each year, Winter Wonders brings its share of discoveries and wonder.
This edition is no exception, with two new zones for the Christmas Market, a reimagined View Tower Experience from the City Hall, and a warm, contemporary visual identity that surprises with its innovative approach.
Balancing tradition, creativity and festive spirit, Brussels reinvents itself every winter to offer visitors a fresh, memorable experience.
On the Grand-Place, the traditional Nativity scene takes on new life with The Fabrics of the Nativity. Imagined by Victoria-Maria, a Brussels-based interior architect known for her refined and bold style, this poetic installation reinterprets the Christmas tradition through light, texture and softness.

Imagined by Victoria-Maria, a Brussels-based interior architect known for her refined and bold style, this poetic installation reinterprets the Christmas tradition through light, texture and softness.
It is housed in a translucent glasshouse measuring 6.5 m long, 3.5 m wide and 4 m high.
Inspired by the Royal Greenhouses of Laeken, the structure glows like a gentle lantern.
At its centre, life-sized rag dolls are dressed in colourful, folkloric fabrics: linens, satins and velvets from leftover stock and recycled materials.
They form a handcrafted Nativity scene celebrating Belgian textile craftsmanship and the beauty of reuse.
The installation was created in collaboration with Span Tech (structure and framework) and L’Atelier by Souveraine (textile design and figures).
This luminous, sensitive work transforms fabric into a universal language, weaving a connection between tradition, creativity and humanity.
In the courtyard of City Hall, Morphosis, a monumental installation by day and night, explores transformation and metamorphosis. Hybrid figures, shifting avatars and evolving identities reflect on our relationship with the body, nature, artifice and algorithms, where the real and virtual merge.

Hybrid figures, shifting avatars and evolving identities reflect on our relationship with the body, nature, artifice and algorithms, where the real and virtual merge.
Designed for the public space, Morphosis uses a giant zoetrope: a circular device that creates the illusion of motion through a sequence of animated images.
Belgian-based artist Rocío Álvarez, invited by studio Interval.ooo, brings to life a colourful, poetic universe combining illustration, animation and fragmented storytelling, inviting visitors both to wander and to contemplate.
This hybrid artwork offers a sensory and immersive experience, where the personal meets the collective and contemporary art engages with the transformations shaping our society.
Part of the “Imaginaires Publics” open call, an initiative funded by the Government of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, delivered by ST’ART in collaboration with Wallonie-Bruxelles International (WBI).
Climb the 200 spiral steps of the City Hall tower and watch Brussels unfold beneath your feet. Along the way, pause in an intimate, dreamlike space that transports visitors into the poetic heart of Brussels’ heritage, accompanied by an original musical creation.

As you ascend, light and music blend harmoniously to awaken the senses and inspire wonder, before you reach the panoramic platform with its 360° view over the Grand-Place, the Christmas tree, and the illuminated city.
Accessible by advance booking only, this unique experience combines heritage, poetry and innovation, offering a new and memorable perspective on the City Hall and the capital.

Extending from this festive area is a monumental upcycled structure, created in collaboration with the Royal Theatre of La Monnaie, featuring nine two-metre Christmas trees made entirely from recycled materials. Each tree represents a creative workshop, showcasing artistic craftsmanship and the value of re-use.
Eight participatory workshops are organised to decorate the trees, with four open to the general public and four reserved for schools. A glass container reproduces a real La Monnaie workshop, allowing visitors to discover the creative process and the world of the theatre.
Place de la Monnaie thus becomes a Christmas market area that is both festive and cultural, inviting visitors to experience an original celebration of sustainability and local creativity.
Like the other Christmas market areas, Place de la Monnaie is open daily from 12 pm to 10 pm, except on 24 December and 31 December and 1 January, when it closes at 6 pm.
Come and admire the majestic Grand-Place Christmas tree, a true symbol of Winter Wonders that delights millions of visitors each year.

For the 2025 edition, under the artistic direction of Jean-Paul Lespagnard, the tree once again takes on a new identity, creating a connection between tradition, creativity and civic engagement. Its carefully designed ornaments celebrate the diversity, warmth and cultural richness of the capital.
After the festive season, the tree will be recycled, and its decorations will be auctioned in aid of the Brussels Food Banks, helping to keep the spirit of solidarity alive.
The project is supported by Delacre, the historic Brussels biscuit maker. Through its craftsmanship and sustainable approach, Delacre contributes to the tree’s decoration, combining culinary heritage and social responsibility.
Experience this magical moment in the heart of Brussels, where light, art and generosity come together to share the wonder of the festive season.
