Celebrate New Year’s Eve in Brussels with a spectacular fireworks display in front of the Atomium: a warm and memorable evening to start the year in style.

On December 31st, Brussels invites you to the Atomium esplanade to celebrate the arrival of the new year in a friendly and festive atmosphere. The Atomium, an unmistakable symbol of the capital, provides the backdrop for a stunning fireworks show, visible from afar, that marks the start of 2026 at midnight.

The evening will kick off at 9pm with a DJ set by Brieuc. From 11.40 pm onwards, a 3D laser mapping will illuminate the structures of the Atomium, offering the audience a first spectacular visual sequence. At midnight, the fireworks will mark the transition into the new year. This show, entitled Fusion, is presented by Brussels Major Events and the City of Brussels, and was specially designed for the Atomium by Arteventia, which is responsible for the pyrotechnic design. It is accompanied by an original musical composition with electro-pop sounds, created to bring all generations together.

Whether with family, friends, or a partner, everyone can enjoy a joyful outdoor celebration at the foot of one of Europe’s most iconic landmarks. The event is free and open to everyone. The large open spaces ensure that visitors can safely enjoy the show and celebrate this special moment together.

PUBLIC ACCESS AND SAFETY
Security checks will take place at the entrances: please do not bring bags, suitcases, or umbrellas.
Glass bottles, objects that could cause injury, and the use of pyrotechnic materials are prohibited, and will be confiscated by order of the police.

The public area will be accessible from 9:00 pm via three entrances, providing access to the 5 zones around the Atomium:

• Entrance A: Empress Charlotte Avenue
• Entrance B: Miramar Avenue
• Entrance C: tomium Avenue

Food trucks and bars will be available in zone 1 and 2.

A dedicated area for persons with reduced mobility (PRM) is located at Place de la Belgique, accessible via Bouchout Avenue, with parking available on Marathon Avenue (King Baudouin Stadium).

MOBILITY
Public transport: The entire STIB network will be free of charge from midnight until the start of service on Wednesday, 1 January. Timetables and routes will be adapted for the event:

• Metro: line 6 – Heysel or Houba-Brugmann stations from 8:00 p.m.
• Tram: lines 51 and 93 – Stade stop; line 7 will be diverted to Esplanade station from 7:00 p.m.; line 9 – King Baudouin station. Lines 19 and 63 will be limited to Guillaume De Greef from 7:00 p.m. The Heysel terminus and the Saint-Lambert, Stuyvenbergh, and Ernest Salu stops will no longer be served after 7:00 p.m.
• Bus: line 83 – Palfijn stop; line 14 – Magnolia stop; Noctis bus N18 – Stade stop.
• STIB recommends that persons with reduced mobility (PRM) attending the fireworks use Houba-Brugmann station for both arrival and departure. More information is available on the STIB app.

Bike: A bicycle parking area will be provided at King Baudouin Stadium, accessible via Marathonlaan (Avenue du Marathon).

Car : Several streets around the Heysel plateau will be closed to traffic and parking will be prohibited.
Coming by car is strongly discouraged but possible. Only Parking C will be accessible from 6:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. via the R0 ring road and/or Chaussée Romaine. Tickets should preferably be purchased in advance via Brussels Expo. Once the car park is full, the police will close the access roads. .
A Kiss & Ride zone will be set up on Meysselaan (Avenue de Meysse).

Taxis: will be able to drop off and pick up passengers on Meysselaan and Houba de Strooperlaan (Avenue Houba de Strooper).
